Atom Rain:NUKING FAST NEVER DIES...
The series that started my doom modding activity, for for better or for worse.
It's set in a undocumented world of mine where the technology is accelerated by a less dangerous, yet more effective type of atomic energy that can be used for more than just weaponry - Neoatom.
Yet, corporations since the 80s got interested in NeoAtom, to the point they accelerated technology to Doom and Quake 1's "we can teleport stuff and go to different dimensions now" levels, Despite the technology is still grounded in 80\90s\2000s.
The corporations's interdimensional expeditions made some dumb executives to solve corporate disputes with paramilitary warfare. no matter what dimension.
There are three big players, Protekto - corporation focused on managed privacy and physical security, Hogsoft - a company focused on over-the-top technology and network and cybernetic revolutions, and sadly, Neo-UAC, rebuilt leftovers from everyone's hated\beloved corporation that started (and ended) Tartarus Incident (Doom 1), and West Coast Inferno (Doom 2).
Protekto and Hogsoft had a corporate feud in 1980s, to the point their ceos had a truce and had a cold one.
They united themselves to wreck havoc on Neo-UAC (and other misc corporations) until Neo-UAC was a beaten, almost dead bull.
The entire conflict was called Operation...
it started in 1995, ended in 1997 with restricting the NeoAtomic military technology.
Corporations (especially Protekto) used Volunteers - ex-security\military\law enforcement\bounty hunting\government agency mercenaries that "volunteer" to get a enormous amounts of buck and get Biologically\Cybernetically enhanced for interdimensional combat, as their main backbone.
Those were unusual bunch from various periods and conflicts - from 70's South-East Asia crisis, to 90's Estaria Economic Overtake.
everyone moved on to their coping with interdimensional horrors and traumas of war...
until one Corporal Colin "Desolator" Nayles, a Operation Duststorm Ultra veteran decided to dive deep in Neo-UAC's dirty secrets and descent into madness in 2008.
he had his own protocol to reveal Neo-UAC's illegal usage of NeoAtom (making country-consuming bombs) and desolate evil.
